St Vincent de Paul Hampers
Each year hampers are produced and delivered by Transition Year for St. Vincent de Paul to people in need in the Killinarden area. On Wednesday 20th December trucks of food were unloaded by a huge team of Transition Year Volunteers into the school. Then on Thursday all this food was laid out and more volunteers walked around the line of food making big hampers. 184 hampers were made in total and this all cost around €17,000. more...

Christmas Trees
The Christmas Tree Project is another annual Transition Year Project.BCR was barley over and we were launched into another project. This was another project raising money for St. Vincent de Paul. The trees were sold as usual in the College Car park and ranged in price from €40 upwards depending on the size of tree.

This year over 80 students were involved in the Christmas tree project and photos can be viewed in the photo gallery by clicking here.

BCR (Blackrock College Radio) is a radio station run by the Transition Year students of Blackrock College every year in aid of St Vincent de Paul. BCR has been running for about 10 years now. Transition Year is granted a special event licence by the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) to broadcast over a five mile radius for a week. BCR is a major undertaking involving the production of over 45 hours of radio in one week. more...
